The Haunting Of Christina's World
Loosely Inspired And Submitted To Out Of Order Challenge

You fetched
A sketch
Under the sky blue
And drew
Image ever so sharp
Like a photograph, stinging the heart
Message sent
And it went
Created a stir
Chilling, spiked with a burr
Such the lesson
No need for confession
Picking a season
For personal reasons
Spring
Encouraged this innocent thing
Many back then
Enjoying Barbie and Ken
Consider a simple walk
Wanting to talk
But you turned it into a nightmare
Healthy and scared
When your subject left their mobility chair
Finding independence, upon a dare
Crawling along
Claiming nothing wrong
Except something needed to be said
Intellectually from the head
Our stars and stripes
They are powerfully bright
Very ripe
Haunting us, spreading fear
Cured we think, downing a six pack of beer
Sacrificed by the local breeder’s steer
A coupled rare steak
Complementing the dinner break
Until dealing with it, we must
Dividing our trust
Creating fuss
Taking away
Our happiness, enthusiastic and gay
Stealing our faithful rainbow golden riches
Saying, ‘tighten those economic britches’
Challenging as it may seem
We learn to scream
Accepting the physical quiz
Sparkling with Coca Cola fizz
Superpowers we can use
“Do not force us to blow our fuse”
Since today we passed laws
Solving global flaws
Allowing everyone, opportunities to call
When climbing this reality wall
Technology programmed devices
Making daily chores, easy and nice
Helping those who paid an unbelievable price
But at what cost
Is there something lost?
During the transition
Conjuring friendly missions
Not understanding someone may want to turn up the heat
And meet
The sensitive guy
Instigating a lovely sigh
Living in the Olsen House
On this day, he is quiet as a mouse
Hearing
Dialogue shattering and spearing
“Save me from this trapped world
Mold me into a modern modeling girl
Wearing expensive pearls
Which I twirl
Until you use the jewels as a noose
Ending my permanent torturous abuse”
Earlier I went by that haunted mansion
Where a lively talent does the dancing
Crippled in life
Death made her a murdered wife
Happily, filled with joy
No longer a painter's toy
Instead, another apple seeking Eve’s attention
Should I mention?
All this
About the young Miss
Who captured Wyeth’s eye
Instigating, the artistic gallery to cry
About the gothic way, dear Christina died
