THE HARBOR

THE HARBOR

Under the awning

 \/\/\/\/\/\/

I sat beneath the palm thatched awning,

It was getting late; we both were yawning.

But as we turned our eyes to face the west,

No words could describe it: it was just the best.

There across the harbor so still

Was a picture out of God’s very will.

The sun easing down to sleep for the night

Was there, for our viewing, in our very sight.

The perfect ending of a perfect day,

Is what we thought as the sun fell away.

I may never see another so sweet,

As the sunset now falling, slow at my feet.
