The Grim Reaper

I am your escort

By Mark Stigers Published 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

When it is your time,

I come for you.

Relax, it will be fine,

there’s nothing you can do.

I take no bribes,

I show no favor,

I tell no lies,

I never waver.

What you’ve done does not matter;

Your deeds will not last.

I come for souls to gather,

once their life has passed.

I am your escort

To the great beyond.

While where we go is no resort,

It’s rest once life is gone

In death, you are all equal.

You should have no fear of me.

It is not I that is lethal,

I just do what must be.
