THE GRIM PEEPER

10-6-2025

Prayers...

smoke and air

love and hate and...

Despair.

Lift a voice..

alone or..

a set of many.

With passion,

with fire,

man's desire..

naught but caught

in webs of lies..

with incense burning

bonfire dances

kneeling...

or

prancing.

Beats and gyrations

religious cantations

to carry our burdens to the skies..

to the stars..

to the seats and

fetes of all-powerful..

Gods!

The main many..or..

the main one

on whom we stake our souls.

Asking

begging

crying..

for help!

From the dying child

to the flimsiest wish

of a vengeful dish

best served cold...

OR

that this time

your gamble finally pays off.

All smoke and mirrors

but without a prayer

without a god..

and no answer..

even if just a four-leaf clover...

there is no hope.

But just one answered prayer...

Hope! Survives..

As long as your loved one lives

or your Sunday entertainment

ends in satisfaction,

Hope lives.

Hope is the answer to prayer

Hope is all.
