The Great Escape

Into nowhere

As we passed Jupiter’s orbit

Sneaky Kelvin froze the volcanoes

Clouds crumbled with transparent meanings

Blocked the view of bugs and dreamers

As we passed Jupiter’s orbit

The connections were simplified, and concepts were uncovered.

We looked through the eyes of Cato the Younger

At flowers, dumps, and other cemeteries.

Bridges burned out with rotten truths,

As we fled into the abyss of reality,

Followed by protuberances

The teeth and tentacles of utter certainty.

Outwardly the stars struck like bullets,

We were serving as hard casings for them.

Stars broke on walls, and on holidays

As we passed Jupiter’s orbit.
