The good is gone

Child, it’s gone.

I know you wanted more.

But all good eventually

Goes onto the next door.

-

It’s tough to watch it go.

I know your pain, my son.

I recognize it like yesterday

When I learned that good must run.

-

If it would stay with me

Till the end if my days,

How will I learn

To mend my ways?

-

If light would not

Turn to night,

What would become

Of strengthened sight?

-

Child, it’s gone.

I know the pain.

But I promise that you’ll

only learn to gain.
