THE GOLDEN YEARS
Bah humbug!

I spoke with my doctor
About my advancing in years.
My aches and my pains
Almost bring me to tears.
These golden years?
A definite lie!
It’s just not fair,
I wanted to cry.
His face held a grin
And this I was told:
“You’ll now get the aches
But, as your doctor, I get the gold.”
