The Gladiator

Poem by Baphomet0

destined to die in the testing grounds of life,

epic gladiatorial epoch, satiating blood lust,

colossus climbing, demented and dying,

arena so trying, limbs and gore flying,

one remains, disheveled and blood stained

nowhere to run, broken and chained,

for a lifetime trained, individuality drained,

just another corpse, for the insane,

crowds laugh and jeer, it’s all too clear,

our end is always so near, a truth severe,

tip of the crimson spear, yet do not fear,

life in another’s hand, raging last stand,

split scarred brand, spilt blood upon the sand,

gladius in hand, member of the damned
