I’m the girl with the pink hair and black liner that you love to stare at and make fun of,
with torn-up shoes and clothes that are worn out and too small to fit.
You love to point at me
and prank me
and make school so much harder than life already is,
but it’s ok to you because that's what you do to people that are not like you.
What you didn’t know is my mom died last year and I wear the liner to feel closer to her because it was her’s...
and you didn’t know that my fathers a drunk,
who never shows any type of love and likes to scream and yell for nothing.
He loses job after job, so there's never any money to get new clothes.
Did you know I have to figure out what comes next to eat because my father is too messed up to care?
I’m just the weird girl with pink hair,
who you rarely see smile because of so much pain in my life, but why would you care.
I want to tell you that I think about suicide all the time because of how hard everything is
and how much harder you guys make it for me coming here.
I try to stick it out because I only have one more year
but I miss my mom
and I’m tired of the jokes and the stares.
I can’t focus at school or home,
I just want peace,
someone to be nice to me,
or to just leave me alone.
My hair, my pink hair
reminds me that I still have the freedom to choose.
I don’t have to succumb to death,
I can finish school and get away live life the way I want to,
that’s what my mom would want me to do.
So don’t make fun of the girl with the pink hair
because you never know what she’s going through
and how close she is to not being there.
My pink hair is my strength to keep me going
and it's all I have left.
I’m hoping you care about the life of the girl with the pink hair.
