The Girl Who Was Never Chosen
They held her back stopping het to rise

The Girl Who Was Never Chosen
She wrote her dreams in pages, with a heart that burned so bright,
She gave her words her everything and stayed awake at night,
She dreamed one day they’d see her name, right there upon the top,
But jealous eyes saw what she had… and wished that she would stop.
For sometimes words can make a heart feel threatened by another,
And those who cannot write them well will quietly smother,
They’d dismiss her like she was nothing, say her words were just the same,
While secretly they feared the girl who might outshine their name.
She watched the stories rise above, while hers were left behind,
And wondered what she lacked in them, what fault they seemed to find,
She’d poured her heart in every line, she’d given all she had,
But the girl who once believed herself now only felt so sad.
No one heard the silence when her hopeful heart grew small,
No one saw the tears she hid behind a smile for all,
They held the power to lift her up, but chose to let her fall,
And sometimes being overlooked can hurt the most of all.
She still has all those stories, though her confidence has gone,
A girl who dreamed of shining bright, now doubts where she belongs,
But maybe one day they’ll look back and see what they denied,
The girl they never chose to rise… they sabotaged her rise
