The girl in the window. Looking out at the world as pretty as can be. Eyes always on her but she never notices. They gawk and stare but she ignores them. Her Friends constantly tell her how pretty she is and she says thank you. The outfits she wears screams confidence. The girl in the window.
The girl in the window. When that window turns into a mirror, where she belittles herself to nothing, less than nothing. Everything seems wrong; her hair, her eyes, her clothes. She's too short, too tall, too fat, too thick. Strip away the clothes and she wants to get rid of her fat, her belly, her chest, her bottom, her thighs, everything. The girl in the window in the back of her mind. Darkness surrounds her, thoughts crowd her.

Occupying Liminal Spaces
In his groundbreaking work, Man's Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl, an Austrian neurologist, psychologist, and Holocaust survivor, advanced an idea central to his philosophy of freedom and finding meaning and purpose: "Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In this space, it is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” (Frankl). Like a threshold, that liminal space Frankl describes is the territory of haiku—a betwixt and between world brimming with potential. But in our mad rush towards whatever beckons, we often fail to notice the moments where life undergoes subtle changes amid the noise and commotion of the world.

They impress us, and sometimes they scare us, but the ultra-rich are always interesting. Some of their famous activities include buying yachts too big to move through channels, buying ridiculously priced cars that could feed the homeless of New York for weeks, and their expensive tastes in sex workers.
