The Gem

things will never be the same

By Lacie GraysonPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I don't know when it started.

When I started hiding bits of me.

I have one me for almost every occasion.

Every person I know.

I keep "me suits" in my closet like brain.

Ready to take one out at moments notice.

Don't like me? Wait, I can change.

Come back tomorrow.

I'll be different I swear.

I'll change, until I make you like me.

(Oh no.)

I've changed too often.

Too much, I have forgotten who I am.

I forget to be careful.

Sometimes this happens.

I find the quiet until I can fix me.

I don't think I remember my original face.

I think I was pretty.

I know I was kinder.
