The slumbering isle of October awakes

the ‘blinking eye’ of the gorgon Medusa.

Where green swells surround her golden flame

and the demon stars shine to seduce you

Riding the flames on raven wings

powered by a witches brew

Embers flying through the breeze

summoning the ghosts and ghouls

Spinning spirits dance and sing

the seasons chase migrating moons

Dressed in autumn’s crimson leaves

as the midnight hour looms

Ancient tales tell the truth of time

told as warnings by the fire

Searching the skies for subtle signs

as nature changes her attire

Breaching the shores of October isles

gather round and sit a spell

Gaze carefully into her eyes

you may see the devil there

Celebrate lives past and present

under the moon emotions swell

Be it full or be it crescent

October sings her last farewell
