Image created using DALL-E
There are pretty ghosts in the garden.
All of them are beautiful, transparent maids with floating ribbons
in their wispy hair; they have quiet eyes and lace around their hips.
Their necks are collared in ivy, for they are slaves to the flowers.
A man walks the kindred green alleys, he’s smart and thick for his age.
He has taken to the walls of roses, which are so like the maids, but in colour—
they are red as fresh blood and coy like children;
he reaches out to touch one, and the garden swallows him whole.
