The Funny Thing About Depression
A Poem About My Past with Depression
The funny thing about depression
Is that it never really leaves
You think you are better
But you really are not
You think you are actually happy for once
But it all comes crashing down
It creeps up on you
One minute you are having fun
Laughing with your friends
The next you are just sitting there
An empty shell begging to feel something
Gripping on to reality as it seems so far away
Depression is like a nagging child
It does not leave you alone
It is a constant annoyance
And it follows wherever you go
It screams at you “don’t forget about me”
It constantly reminds you that it is there
You beg and beg for it to leave
But instead of leaving it just gets louder
It gets louder and louder
until it is all you can hear

I ride on through my depression session in utter darkness and isolation trapped myself within this fooked journey leaving no option of any escape from myself my over powering over whelming session
