The Frog

A playful look at a small pond dweller, hopping through its day and exploring its green, watery world.

By Dengi LegkoPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

In the pond where lilies sway,

A little frog jumps day by day.

With skin so green and eyes so bright,

He leaps and croaks from morn till night.

On a lily pad, he finds his seat,

Watching dragonflies zip and meet.

With a splash, he dives below,

In the shimmering water, to and fro.

As the sun rises, painting the sky,

He greets the dawn with a joyful cry.

From reeds and rushes, his friends appear,

A chorus of frogs, all filled with cheer.

They sing of rain and warm sunshine,

Of hidden places where they dine.

With flies and bugs, a tasty treat,

Nature’s bounty, oh, what a feast!

When dark clouds gather and thunder rolls,

He hides in the reeds, safe in his shoals.

But as the storm passes, and the skies clear,

He hops out again, with nothing to fear.

In puddles left by the gentle rain,

He leaps and splashes, dancing again.

With every jump, he explores the land,

A curious heart, so bold and grand.

As twilight falls and stars appear,

He sings a song for all to hear.

A melody sweet, under the moon's glow,

Echoing softly, like a gentle flow.

Through seasons changing, he remains true,

In springtime warmth and winter's blue.

A symbol of joy, of life so free,

Oh, little frog, you inspire me!

So here’s to the frog, in pond and stream,

Living a life that feels like a dream.

With leaps of joy and a heart so bright,

He teaches us all to embrace the light.
