The Forgotten Horizon

Beauty vanished before my eyes

The Forgotten Horizon

No soul has named this crimson sea.
Its waves remember what we hide.
The stars refuse to tell the truth.
They simply watch the endless tide.

The evening wore a crown of ash.
The heavens burned without a sound.
Each fading light became a key.
To doors no living heart had found.

I felt the silence touch my skin.
It carried neither hate nor grace.
It knew the secrets buried deep.
Before I ever knew my face.

The wind recalled forgotten prayers.
Spoken long before my birth.
They drifted through the scarlet sky.
Like dust returning to the earth.

One lonely star refused to fade.
It waited far beyond the night.
As though it guarded something old.
That feared the coming of the light.

The sea grew still beneath my feet.
Its restless breathing came to rest.
It held a thousand hidden names.
Locked safely in its ancient chest.

An unseen doorway filled the sky.
No hand had carved its silent frame.
It opened without asking why.
Then softly whispered out my name.

I dared not move or close my eyes.
The darkness seemed to draw me near.
Not every shadow wishes harm.
Some only feed upon our fear.

The eye appeared beyond the stars.
Too vast for any soul to flee.
It held the weight of countless worlds.
Yet rested quietly on me.

Its gaze contained forgotten time.
The rise and fall of every flame.
Empires vanished into dust.
The eye remained exactly the same.

I turned to find the shore had gone.
The waves erased each trace behind.
Some journeys leave no path to walk.
Only echoes in the mind.

Now every night I search the sky.
Where crimson clouds and silence meet.
For once you’ve seen what waits beyond.
The darkness knows your heartbeat.
