The First Shall Be Last

..so it is written..

 ><><><

Satan stood at the gates of hell

And invited all who came;

He accepted all the bodies, strong,

But turned away the lame.

 <><><>

“To be a part of my great army”,

He, then said with a grin,

“You must be made of muscle –

Not maimed or much too thin.”

 <><><>

 His wild frenzy of ambition

Was the cause of his descent.

He was looking for the vilest souls

Who never would lament.

 <><><>

He hated all the faint of heart

In fear they might rebel

And beg God to forgive them

And bring them back from hell.

 <><><>

He saw it happen many times:

The Mercy of our Lord.

God won so many battles

Without the raising of a sword.

<><><>

God is always there and waiting

To make Heaven our reward.

He just wants to hear our loving words:

“Forgive me, my dear Lord.”
