The first 5000 days

5000 days and counting, an age long forgotten

5000 days and counting, an age long forgotten

From where I sat to now, my world has been remade

The highs and the lows, the joys and the sorrows

Tread all the same path but always on a different route.

Memories frame each day in pictures of shapes and hues

Experience collected collected like countless pebbles in my pocket

Time rushed ahead but moments stayed to teach old truths

Life lived with fierce love, courage and no regrets.

Gathered memories, as a beloved scrapbook page

Risks taken and lessons learned; hearts mended, broken too

Battles won and many mistakes, was part of the journey true

Friends found and lost along the way, advice to heed or shun

A thousand risks that made me grow, always wiser when done

Though paths long forgotten lay ahead, first five K stays behind

Significant life chapters I can call my very own design.
