the fire will burn [if you let it touch you]

i love(d)

you

the way the grass

loves the rain

after a drought

touch(ed)

you

as though you

were made of glass.

i hear(d)

you

weeping next to me.

i

hurt myself

and couldn't sleep

would (have) ble(e)d out all

my blood

if it

would make

you see.

i only

tasted her

because she smelled of you

and i thought

perhaps

and you became a

ghost long before

you ever really left.

you speak a thousand words

in utter silence.

i break your heart

the way i snap a branch.

i kiss(ed)

you

the way an addict

kisses their drugs

crave(d)

you

like a flower

craves

the sun light.

i broke you.

i can't sleep.

i loved you.

you got too close.
