The Fight,
A malevolent puzzle of life. Where every action is confronted with reaction.
Choices and opportunities, cascade through a gauntlet of mistakes and misfortunes.
Offense and defense dance a “Cha Cha” to the music of death.
Anxiety and expectations challenge reality with imagination.
As we prepare, fear lays hidden; spectators waiting for any opportunity to interfere. Instincts control the moment, as the moments decide life or death.
Securing sanctuary in the subconscious, thoughts are tucked away. Life stands still while observing the chaos. Time’s only functions are commencement and conclusion.
Only after, will we continue or cease to exist.

Doing it for the troops
The others dropped like flies around me. We fought and struggled to get to this point. I'm the only one left now. The objective is right there. A mere two hundred feet away. The last of my team got a bullet to the head right next to me, but I couldn't do anything. I was able to locate and neutralise the sniper as he shot my friend, so his death was at least not in vain.
