After the fireworks have faded,

And the hot dogs have been eaten,

Will our nation still be jaded?

By other countries beaten?

Division is all that remains.

Different protests meeting in different places.

A wealth of diversity our nation contains,

Many different beautiful faces.

But our focus is on what divides us.

Who can bring a voice of unity and reason?

Will there be new leaders to trust

In the next election season?

Our forefathers brought us independence,

But now we seem dependent on arguments and fights.

Putting things between us like neighbors building a fence.

To preserve our liberties and rights,

There needs to be a new message.

Work together before our great nation is a vestige.
