The Fear

I’m afraid to love.

There is so much damage that you have done to me, I'm scared.

I'm scared to love, to like, to develop any feelings.

I'm afraid to show someone I care and then for them to leave.

Just like you dropped all the love I had for you.

You took part of my heart with you,

you have stolen so much of me,

that I'm afraid to love again.

Because if I love this time, what happens if I don't survive.

What happens if there is so much damage,

the bleeding won’t stop.

What happens if the doctors have to let me go.
