princess and prince

glory and fame

before and since

fairytale games

~

promise of love

truer than time

feathers and doves

rhythms and rhymes

~

crowned jewels and lace

pure gold and silk

a beautiful face

a powerful will

~

true love's first kiss

stronger than steel

heavenly bliss

pleasures and squeals

~

innocence dwells

beautiful blooms

the heart, it swells

emotions swoon

~

dark natures prevail

loyalties fade

brightness now pale

from games being played

~

once trustworthy and true

now dishonored and broken

A red heart now blue

from cruel words spoken

~

Will she love again

time only will tell

bearing fates heavy chains

woken fairytale spell

This is a blend of old and new. A story told in prose.

I love the dynamic of hard/soft and permanence/fleeting composed within rhyme!
