The Eye That Never Closed

Watching seeing spying missing nothing

The Eye That Never Closed

No map has marked that distant shore,
No sailor speaks the place by name.
The sea keeps every secret safe,
Yet nothing leaves it quite the same.

The crimson sky was stained with time,
As though the night itself had bled.
Each cloud became a silent ghost,
Still mourning words the living said.

A lonely star refused to fade,
Though dawn had claimed the eastern sea.
It burned as if it stood between
The world I knew… and what could be.

The tide drew circles in the dark,
Like ancient hands that could not rest.
Each wave returned with something lost,
Then buried it beneath my chest.

I heard no footsteps on the shore,
Yet someone walked beside my soul.
They never reached to touch my hand,
They simply led me toward the whole.

The wind knew languages of stone,
Of fallen kings and broken skies.
It whispered through the crimson mist,
Then disappeared before my eyes.

An endless silence filled the air,
Too deep for fear to understand.
It wrapped itself around my heart,
Like winter taking gentle land.

Then came the eye beyond the veil,
Not cruel, not kind, not born of light.
It opened slowly in the stars,
And turned the heavens into sight.

Its gaze held centuries of dust,
Of worlds that flourished, then were gone.
Empires rose like morning mist,
And vanished long before the dawn.

I could not tell if time had stopped,
Or if I’d wandered out of time.
The stars no longer looked like stars;
They formed a strange celestial rhyme.

The darkness wasn’t empty there,
It breathed beneath the scarlet sky.
As though the universe itself
Remembered every last goodbye.

I spoke my name into the void,
The echo answered with another.
Not louder, only older still—
Like one forgotten by my mother.

The sea stood still. The wind grew cold.
The crimson clouds refused to part.
And somewhere far beyond the night,
Something remembered my own heart.

I turned to leave… the path was gone.
The shore had vanished with the tide.
There was no world to walk back to,
Only the place where shadows hide.

The brightest star began to fall,
Yet never reached the waiting sea.
It hung forever in the dark…
Still watching. Still remembering me.
