The evening sky
A short poem on my favorite time of day.

The evening sky
it lies in the clouds
as it coddles the sun
in its breast pocket
the colors of indigo
display over the scenery
like a stroke from a paintbrush
the orange and yellow
shine brightly with confidence
giving us one last beautiful dance
before the sun finally goes down
a certain stillness occurs
giving people time to take a breather
from the day they just had
whether good or bad
the pinkness of the sunlight
shimmers and sparkles
mixing with the plethora of colors
like a used easel
a comforting sight for me
the sun slowly says goodbye
and promising to see us another day
till next time Sol.
