I feel you in his soul
Deep down
Where he keeps
The memories of
You and Him
The energy you shared
That he keeps harnessed
Like glow bugs in a bottle
That he keeps fed
Nourished to full health
With time meant for me
I see him wander off
In his mind
I want to ask him
Where he goes
But I know
I will only hear lies
The smile that pierces
His lips
I can tell
They're embracing yours
I can feel the dance
The embrace
The passion
He feels for you
Not me
I can smell
The betrayal
Like a lipstick stain
On his collar
I see his shame.

You Weren't the One, Afterall
I told you you'd be the one who got away. But every time I look in my rearview you fade more each day. You were right about one thing baby. We could never make it. But you're why is where you failed to see. Trust me when I say, baby, it's all you, it really isn't me. I tried to see something that wasn't there. Not even a little. Just like the Jinn you pulled the veil over my eyes and proceeded to eat me alive. Sucking my soul dry while a dreamed a beautiful lie. I barely escaped your poisonous disease. If it weren't for the truest of love I'd be another victim. I told you that you'd be the one who got away, but I don't even know what you looked like anymore.

My To Be Read List
I have been taking some time away from writing. I haven't forgotten about Vocal, the truth is I just have been too busy pursuing other things to write online and honestly, my little family and I just had a really hard month between the flu and a weird eye infection/cold circulating our house. I'm currently sipping some warm peppermint tea because my throat is sore.
