The End of Summer

Sad isn’t it makes me depressed I hate winter

The End of Summer

The sun hangs low upon the sky,
The golden days begin to fade,
The warmth that held the summer close,
Now slowly slips into the shade.

The flowers bow beneath the breeze,
Their colours softer than before,
The evenings lose their summer light,
As autumn waits outside the door.

I hear the birds begin to leave,
Their songs grow distant in the air,
And every sunset seems to say,
That summer soon will not be there.

The warm nights once belonged to us,
With stars like diamonds shining bright,
But now the darkness comes too soon,
And steals away the fading light.

I walk beneath the evening sky,
And feel the coolness on my face,
As though the summer’s last goodbye,
Was written softly into place.

The memories will stay with me,
Like photographs that time can’t change,
The laughter, sunshine, rain and dreams,
Though everything around will change.

So let the leaves fall where they may,
Let colder winds begin to blow,
For every ending holds a door,
To somewhere new we have to go.

And when the final summer sun,
Disappears beyond the trees,
I’ll hold those golden days in me,
Like summer carried on the breeze.
