The Empaths Plight

Questioning what things are so sad to see

Disheartened by revelations so clear

Hearing tales and stories, swearing this cannot be

Dying inside, little by little, because it's all so near

---

Hearing of woe spreading like plague

Not the same as you suffer each day

All seems so clear and yet so vague

It wafts off them as they pass by on their unmerry way

---

Pungent in the air around each corner and at every turn

Blending inside each of your awakened cells

It permeates the senses like odors during a burn

Reminding one of all those individual hells

---

Energy blends and powers, or infects with no choosing

A happiness thats faked leaving ones sad

From the young joys to pain over those their losing

Sickness causing that one to fear losing his dad

---

Don't touch without warning as the powers filled with might

Overcoming inentions that were born for this day

For ones only doing what they believed was right

But the power washed over thee, as they were about to pay

---

Felt it you did, from a place down below

And the end of the voices doesn't come soon

From that first contact you did know

It struck you with the weight of the moon

---

Seeing things not seen by others did worry thee

Carrying the feelings of the pain

Seeing the faces of their demons was scary

Knowing never would life be the same

---

It was forced upon thee, so unfair

No question or resolve not to be

All that is good is not always there

This insanity of feeling, a curse upon thee

---

Your ache on the insides as your hollowed from within

Left marked by every inch of their sorrow

Wishing deeply that empathy had failed to begin

Fearing it will still be there tomorrow
