The Embracers of Darkness

Darkness, a thing so real

It possesses a face and many names

Before you it may stand, selling you on a deal

Only later do you begin to feel its vile games

---

Evil, a thing that it does bring upon you

And yet you lap it up like sweet liquid treat

It comes to claim all it can as it works its way through

The sure magnitude of its power, something hard to beat

---

Forever, has it existed on our plane

Always among the living

To most, embracing it feels so insane

Yet it is power to the darkness that you keep giving

---

The vile constructs of things it makes you demand

You offer it cheers and thunderous applause

Instead of taking that all important stand

You embrace it lovingly without pause

---

And when those who decry its innate wicked style

Raise their voices so loud

You simply hug it and caress it tighter as you smile

Staring at the ones who suffered the most, standing proud

---

You are the ones who envision your way as right

Changing the meanings of things and manipulating the truth of it all

How is it that you sleep comfortably at night

As you carry being the cause of the fall

---

Good who do nothing when something is must be done

They are just as guilty as the evil at hand

Even moreso than those in fear who choose to run

You and the ignorant are a part of what evil planned
