The Embers Glow
A Poem of Loss and Resilience
Ash falls softly, a curtain of grey,
Where once a fire roared, vibrant and gay.
Chimney weeps, a mournful sigh,
Smoke trails upwards, a tear in the sky.
Charred remains where warmth used to be,
Aching absence, a hollowness we see.
Memories flicker, embers that glow,
Of laughter shared, a love that did flow.
But beneath the ashes, embers still rest,
A spark of hope, a resilience unrepressed.
With patient tending, kindling the flame,
A new fire can rise, whispering your name.
For even in loss, life finds a way,
New beginnings dawn, with each passing day.
The warmth of the past, a guiding light,
As you rise from the darkness, stronger and bright.
