The Echo That Refuses to Fade

A ghost of longing

By Alain SUPPINIPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I walk the corridors where silence stays,

Your shadow lingers, though the years decay,

The echo of your voice will never fade.

Each night returns me to those broken days,

I chase the phantom words I failed to say,

I walk the corridors where silence stays.

The moon recalls our secret, burning ways,

Its cold light marks the debts I cannot pay,

The echo of your voice will never fade.

Regret is carved in stone, and time obeys,

A circle draws me back, I cannot stray,

I walk the corridors where silence stays.

Desire persists though memory betrays,

It binds my heart and will not go away,

The echo of your voice will never fade.

So let me haunt the dark, where sorrow prays,

Until the dawn erases me with day—

I walk the corridors where silence stays,

The echo of your voice will never fade.
