The Hall of Empty Souls

I walk down this hall, this Hall of Empty Souls

Where light has abandoned, leaving dark gaping holes

Where once there were hearts, but now only stones

And cold hollow faces, and tired weary bones

I feel their loneliness. I hear their cries

I see the pain in faded dead eyes

I mourn for them in this cold, empty place

Where death will not come and life will not grace

As I walk, I wonder…” But, why am I here?”

But as I walk on, I realize in fear

For there on the wall, the last face I see

There in the darkness, the last face is me

I tried to run, and as I began to scream

I awoke with a start, for it was only a dream

A dream to remember…one I shall never forget

For the Hall of Empty Souls isn’t full yet

So, take heed my friend, for dreams often come true

And the face next to mine…could be you
