THE DONKEY I MANIFESTED

I always wanted a donkey,
My parents always said no.
I loved them oh so much,
My heart wept for one, you know.

I dreamed about my donkey,
With his lovely ears so high.
I could see him in my garden,
Every time I closed my eyes.

I wished for him each morning,
And wished for him each night.
One day I’ll have my donkey,
I knew that I was right.

I started manifesting,
And wrote my wishes down.
Will someone send a donkey,
The sweetest one around?

One day a farmer passed me,
And stopped outside my gate.
Have you been manifesting?
I said yes, but you are late.

Did you ask for a donkey?
I said yes, I really did.
He smiled and pointed backwards,
I nearly flipped my lid.

There stood my little donkey,
The one I dreamed about.
Is that really mine, I asked him?
He said yes, without a doubt.

Well here is your delivery,
God bless, he said to me.
I hugged my little donkey,
As happy as could be.

I called him Manifesto,
It seemed the perfect name.
I manifested my donkey,
And finally he came.

Then I wished for some chickens,
Perhaps just two or three.
The next day twelve came running,
All heading straight for me.

Manifesto stood there watching,
Then slowly shook his head.
Have you been manifesting,
Those blooming hens, he said?

So now I have my donkey,
And chickens everywhere.
I manifested happiness,
And somehow it got there.

So never stop your dreaming,
No matter what they say.
Your donkey might be coming,
With a farmer on his way. ❤️
