The distance between them is vast

Crossing icy blue rivers,

Mountains, hills, and forests,

Prairie fields adorned with purple weeds

Thistles pricking against bare ankles

Tiny barbs twisting into angel feet

And the space between them is also nothing

A breath, a lacy wisp swirled into empty space

Between soft lips waiting to kiss

Two lovers drink each other in

Intoxicated with the power building

A sparkle and a thread

Fire blazing forth through combustible love

Showering its hot ashes into the fibres

Of two souls at home, entwined together

Near or far these elements are never apart

Belonging one with the other.
