The Deepest Purple

You let me shimmer

By Ella SogPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Selfishly committed to the high,

of meeting strangers passing by.

The quest --

the thrill.

The hunt --

the skill.

This thirst, just one, can't quench.

Mother always said,

"Don't wander yonder".

Despite the warning,

I keep exploring.

And though many burns,

I still can't discern

so I dance along the path.

Enveloped in the deepest purple,

I sashay toward your face so humble.

An invitation,

you can't keep waiting.

Take my hand,

let loose,

stop faking.

Now you're in the web I'm weaving,

caught in a trance,

my dance,

I'm gleaming.

Because in the dark I still can glimmer,

you see my light,

you let me shimmer.
