The Day I Stopped Waiting

Why I Stopped Waiting

By Omasanjuwa OgharandukunPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

I stopped waiting for your message today,

Not because the memories faded away,

But because my heart finally understood,

That some endings are disguised as good.

I searched for signs in every call,

Hoping your name would break my fall,

Yet silence taught what words could not,

Some battles are won by what is forgot.

The coffee shop still knows my face,

The park still holds our favorite place,

But healing begins when you choose to see,

That your future is bigger than what used to be.

Heartbreak is not the end of your story,

It is the road that leads to your glory,

For every goodbye that shattered your soul,

Was making room for a greater goal.
