The Day I Let Go

Finding freedom and growth in the art of surrender.

By DavescalesPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
A woman reborn

I clung to the clouds, high and vast,

A fleeting dream, a moment passed.

Suspended in a trembling state,

Afraid to fall, to tempt my fate.

The world below was far, yet near,

A tapestry of hope and fear.

I feared the drop, the letting be,

What if the ground was not for me?

But winds will whisper, skies will shift,

And even clinging clouds must drift.

The pull of gravity took hold,

A story new, a tale untold.

I let go softly, yet I fell fast,

A silver thread through skies so vast.

Each tumbling moment, sharp and clear,

Revealed the beauty of falling near.

The earth rose up to meet my fall,

A gentle kiss, the end of all.

Yet in that end, a birth began,

A stream, a river, a life unplanned.

To let go is to learn, to be,

To trust the fall will set you free.

And so, I sank, then rose anew,

The day I let go, I finally grew.
