I danced the day away, but not alone.

I danced with creatures of beauty and ice.

Together we laughed until the moon shone,

and when they slept, I found a different vice.

My friends in the night do not play so nice.

They growl and they bite, howl and scream.

To be one of them is a sacrifice,

but there exists not a more loyal team.

Dancing with demons is not what it seems,

but for all my life, neither have been I.

I flee into my days and live in dreams,

where maybe I won't fall before I fly.

My mind houses demons of ember-glow,

while my heart yearns for angels made of snow.
