The Daughter of Melancholy
Caught up in depression's cold embrace...
Nothing stays
The voices fade
The questions and the pull still lingering
The whispers of dreams
Still darting through my memories
I have not done this alone
Yet I am always alone
The house is empty
Silent
The eerie, calming grey stifling the house
I wish you'd come
I know you won't
Still my thought longer on the possibilities
Empty
Honest
Alone
If I am honest I feel no fire
No hate, no anger despite the encouragement
Just empty and grey
The pull, the lure
The endless suffering of a heart holding onto hope
The house is hollow
I wish you'd come
I wish I knew your truths
But it's unfair to expect
I have have been silent too
The bridge is broken
You hold the match
It could be burnt
But it could rebuild
My heart aches
The questions linger
Nothing stays and this haunting image never fades
I am at a loss
