The Darkness

The feeling of nothing

By Mark Stigers Published 4 months ago 1 min read

The darkness

The darkness takes me every night

For little do I dream

I black out with no recall

A blankness it would seem

Where I go I do not know

There is a lack of anything there

Yet each night I descend

a trapped inward stare

Others tell of strange dreams

When I say I have none

They say I just don’t remember

The same thing in the long run

Each night I die a death

And am reborn each moring

For a time at night I am gone

A passing with no mourning

Where does sleep take me?

To a place so dark

Yet it is a piece inside

A place within my heart

If there is no memory

A lack of a feeling

When you can’t touch a inner part

It is a darkness of being

sad poetry
