I write him stories with the ink bleeding out my heart,

In the dark

My words slip through the cracks as I break and fall apart,

In the dark

Blood stained ink- cursive curses cursing how I tried so hard,

In the dark

I hide from you like you hide from what we are.

Black and blue - like the bruises covering my arms,

The bitterness and sadness like bruises on my heart,

Your dark stare burns right through me when I see your icy blues, 👀

Like snake venom your words burn my veins, my eyes never leave my shoes,

I’m faded… fading away, a shadow that hides from view.

I’ll sing a 1000 songs with the off-beat of my broken heart,

In the dark

1000 pictures painted with my blood worth each story I’ll never start,

In the dark

I don’t hide from my pain by pretending that it’s art,

In the dark

I hide from you like you hide from what we are.

It’s clear to me how clarity escapes you over time,

Our paranoia makes us see everything we do as a crime,

I’m a porcelain statue kept in a snow globe under your eye,

I get lost in the fragmented walls inside inside my mind,

We are all prisoners here, searching for the light,

We are all free spirits here, aimless in the night,

But there aren’t any answers in these never ending fights..

How can you have a soul mate,

If you don’t have a soul?

I thought you were my soulmate,

Now you’re someone I don’t know.

Why’d you have to go?

What about my soul?
