The cupboard

Time out

I draw clouds on the wall- blue and purple, my favourite colours.

I draw a yellow sun with long rays. Then I give him a smiling mouth and two big round eyes.

I draw a sea beneath in green and blue and little fish to swim in it.

I draw a boat on the sea with a tall mast and white triangle sail.

I will sail that boat one day, jump on board and be the captain.

I will wear a sailor's hat and give my crew orders.

We will sail on that sea and have great adventures-

fighting pirates, rescuing mermaids, finding treasure.

I will...

"Johnny, are you ready to apologise?"

"Yes mummy".

"Go on, then".

"I'm sorry for burning dinner".

"Yes, you're a naughty boy. But see how nice mummy is, I'm letting you out early".

"Yes mummy, thankyou mummy".

"Now get out of that filthy cupboard and make my dinner again".

"Yes mummy".

About the Creator

Juliet Emaranth

There was an old man with three feet

And each foot danced a different beat.

It made it impossible

For him to stop at all,

So he danced for coins in the street.
