Tears of a virgin

Beneath a sky where twilight fades to grey,

In a chapel's shadows, cold and dim,

A marble statue, pristine, stands alone,

The Virgin Mary, eyes with tears brim.

Her face serene, yet sorrow's etched in stone,

A mother's heart, enduring ceaseless ache,

For in her arms, the weight of loss is known,

A silent vigil, prayers for hearts that break.

Her tears, like pearls, in candlelight do gleam,

Each drop a whisper of a soul in pain,

Through centuries, her mournful eyes still dream

Of peace for those who suffer in love's name.

Oh, gentle Mother, weep not for the past,

For in your tears, a strength so pure and vast,

You teach us grace in sorrow, hope in strife,

The crying Virgin, bearer of new life.
