The Crucial Key

I escaped out of hell.

It was different than what I imagined-

more “The Devil’s Advocate” (1997 film) less “Legend” (1985 film).

The days leading up were filled with empty promises.

Bargaining for my silence.

When I would not zip my mouth shut, I was burned and bruised.

Left with nothing on but undergarments.

Exposed and considered a traitor.

If they knew I had the key,

then they would take more than just my life.

They would take my liberty and leave me with a nice frame.

-A key I cleverly pocketed in my bra by the way-

How important is it? You might ask.

It can collapse a whole dynasty.

It can bring a cloud of acid rain on an all too sunny day.

It can torch the hierarchy, starting at the top.

Was it worth the beatings?

Was it worth the humiliation?

You cannot save lives without the possibility of losing another.

I analyzed the risk vs reward,

and I concluded who the f*** cares!

This world has gone to s***!

And maybe this key is the cure.

Or maybe it is a temporary relief.

Either way, a win would taste sweet right about now!

I refer to it as a key, but it does not open any single door.

No complex riddles to solve before use.

Nor is it accompanied by a levered book that allows passage to a secret room.

It is not held on a chain or jagged to fit.

No hidden codes you can find by rummaging this text...

Well actually that last one is a slight lie.

Good thing I am not under oath!

It is one of our current contemporary modern era:

A hard drive with names, files, and crimes beyond belief.

Absolutely magnificent!

If you never see or hear from me again,

and the contents hidden in the drive are released,

then you know I am back in hell smiling!

And if they cannot enter one particular encrypted file,

the one labeled "Lady Liberty's True Origin"

-a very spicy and mind-bending collection-

then maybe reread this.

Here you will find the code.

Caps lock on and off throughout.

A word that resembles the word hell by including three of those letters.

One that truly means toppled and damaged beyond repair.
