Creatives must be careful
For we will lose our minds
In the process of creating.
Our minds are full of those
Things that hurt and damage
the psyche. Truth does that.
Truth beckons the creative
To remain silent even when
It knows we cannot.
Creatives are reluctant conduits of the truth.
Soothsayers, wizards, haunted and ridiculed.
Getting jobs out of unbelief in the gifts...and hunger.
Driven to the edge of cliffs, hearing voices to jump
But the net doesn’t appear, some jump anyway.
Those are the heroes, the misunderstood driven
Mad by those things we can’t say must say.
In the process, in the becoming, in the witness,
We see our sanity because we know that the
Truth is, the real truth is...no one is listening.
About the Creator
Cynthia Fields
I adore words and I love what happens when we grab them, sleep with them, holler and scream and laugh at them! I love what happens when we throw them in the air and watch them fall magically from our minds onto paper!
