The Crawling Eye

The Trollenberg terror

By Mark Stigers Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

I am in mountain mists,

Hidden in the fog.

See me, and you will insist

that I am something gone wrong.

Those poor souls I have eaten;

they fell under my hypnotic gaze.

Their minds they have forgotten,

lost in a psychotic maze.

I’m a giant eye with tentacles.

I will put you in a trance-

or will you be one of the cynical,

and deny me at first glance.

I will watch you while you hike,

within my foggy blanket concealed.

If you should catch my sight,

your fate I will have sealed.

You don’t want to see me.

Once you do you will go insane-

A sight that just can’t be.

Your mind forever stained.
