The Comfort Zone

We seek its haven.

It wraps us in an easy feeling of safety and warmth.

Promising us protection and security.

It certainly saves us in our time of overload.

And yet,

stepping out of the zone,

helps us to grow.

It’s hard to push past it

at first.

Our old beliefs, our old excuses

lie worthless at our feet.

We gather strength

To push forward to try something - anything new

We secretly long for this growth,

knowing that just past this point

will be a new comfort zone…

if for only a moment to rest,

and get our footing…

Until once again adventuring forward.

Suddenly, it seems the act of moving forward:

the learning and yearning,

growing and creating...

We discover it brings us such joy,

such gratitude,

that abundance overflows

spilling into our lives…

Then we find ourselves

in the moment of movement and growth,

has become our new comfort zone.

Basking in the abundance of knowledge,

and wealth and all the creation we have accomplished.

Thankful and grateful for what we now have,

And strong enough

And brave enough

now to learn and grow more.
