The Quiet Work of Becoming

Challenge accepted.

The acceptance of misguidance

pulls us to each end of the earth—

places never traveled.

Did you hear

that a dream spoken out loud

is stolen by those with real desire?

So hide ideas under fear

to steer thieves away

from your true interest.

Transform in silence

while those around you

see only what they’re supposed to.

Mention only what makes dreams safe.

Give fake love

to prove that care lives within you.

Keep intention

wrapped inside the depths of truth,

remaining unseen

to those too eager to embrace fate.

Smile like everything makes sense—

like bad means hope

to the one covered in lies.

Give up.

Throw in the towel.

Stop trying.

(The gift you possess

needs no effort to be achieved.)

The joy found in moments of inspiration

only survives battles

that end in victory.

But life forces losses

upon each person

without warning.

So burrow beneath war.

Stay clean—

to evade constant damage from the outside.

Leave passion from inside

at every destination,

to ensure your remembrance.

Engrave the essence you possess

on the world

with every opportunity—

ensuring the expansion

of the comfort zone.
