The comfort of a cup of coffee

Getting grounded

Morning coffee is a time for reflection

that can offer comfort with a subconscious inflection.

In a moment, each individual, for themselves can judge

what is on their mind, by simply looking into the sludge.

.

It's a fun way to start a day

listening to what the subconscious has to say, as play.

Glimpsing at the grounds from the cradle of civilization.

consciousness can peek into nature's chaotic organization

.

Nature's spirit, illuminating sacred wisdom travels

into the brain, where a story slowly unravels.

The grounds within the cup form a Rorschach's test.

Finding patterns within flattened forms is the quest.

.

Nature ignites the essential first spark

as shapes form within light spaces and dark.

Hidden knowledge of what might be begins to show,

and we start to see what we did not knowingly know .

.

Numbers, letters and animals are seen

as symbols of people, money, and travel we glean.

Nature, the wise author sets out the signs

arranging the runes so an alternate pathway shines.

.

With focus, the grounds of the tree of life

help the soul find truth and have less strife.

Our lizard sauropod ancestor, Massospondylus

passed on a gift, to help avoid all the fuss.

.

Our primitive brain, geared to bring beauty and avoid pain

lets the cosmic serpent reveal images to the newer brain.

Obstacles and worries, that might cause anger or fear,

are simplified to help the sleepwalker steer.

.

Nature’s power holds mysterious forces

that are viewed when respecting our reptilian sources.

Our thinking brain lets the genie have a place to begin.

It respects the cautions of the beast within.

.

The coffee is savoured, and its comfort continues

as glances of the dredges form strongly bound sinews

that join to subconscious images, of what might be true,

and if not, there is cause for a chuckle after enjoying the brew.

To seek the simple and the higher pleasures, and open oneself to their revelations. Very Epicurean in the ancient sense. I'm drinking my second cup of coffee while I read. :)
